First post yeahhh!! So here goes… We were all invited to a lovely cocktail making evening at the Albany on the Lisburn Road (on a Wednesday might I add… sore heads all round in the work the next day). We all love trying new drinks and learning new bar skills, especially when the cocktail menu consisted of the following:
- Cosmopolitan
- Mojito (our fav)
- Sloe Gin Fizz
- French Martini
- Zombie
We were greeted by the lovely Mark who was our cocktail master for the evening. He definitely knew what he was talking about and has lots of experience making and creating cocktails.

The Albany is trying to progress to be one of the best cocktail bars in Belfast.. . and I would probably say it’s a very close contender to Berts @ the Merchant! Anyway back to cocktail making, we began learning about the different tools used whilst making your cocktails; measuring utensils, Boston tins, a vast array of glasses, stirrers… I frankly wanted to skip this part and get straight to sampling but it was actually very interesting! Next we moved on to adding, stirring, shaking … the works! We were able to go behind the bar like official cocktail masters and demonstrate our new found skills!

It was definitely a fun experience and one we would all recommend, not only did we learn cocktail making but we learnt lots about the varieties of gin, rum, vodka etc, how each was made and which variety of spirit is best served with which mixers and garnishes.
Mojitos!
Cocktail classes are around £28pp- we got around 5 drinks each and some lovely nibbles. A drink in the Albany cost approx. £7-9 so it really is good value.
